Mechanical Systems

Mechanical Locking Systems are very simple to fit and in many different areas of the machine. This type of system can be fitted quickly and easily. There are many different types of mechanical locking device, some of which are listed below.

Breaker Lok
Locks hydraulic breakers, buckets, posthole borers etc to mini excavators or backhoe loaders when left on site out of working hours.

Leg-Lock
Locks stabiliser leg with wheels off the ground. Permanently part of the machine.

Trackloc
A device that immobilises the track of any tracked crawler machine fitted with either rubber or metal tracks. The Trackloc for rubber tracks also enables the trailer to be secured to the excavator thereby defeating theft by lorry-mounted cranes.

Identity Sytems

A simple but effective system that uses 1mm diameter laser etched dots. The dots can have the Company Name, Telephone Number and Post Code etched across them. Property can be immediately identified back to the company. This can be particularly important in discouraging potential thieves. Several thousand dots can be applied in a few minutes. The dots are only detectable by shining a UV lamp on the area to be checked.

Immobilisation Systems

There are different types of immobilisation systems on the market from a mechanical to a diesel system. The principle they work on is to isolate all or a combination of hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems.

The Meck Lock mechanical system can isolate the hydraulic system that operates a boom or steering system ensuring the plant cannot be moved. The key system has several million combinations that cannot be copied. The key barrel is drill, saw and hammer proof and cannot be electronically overridden.

The Kosran ecv system primarily secures the diesel fuel supply and locks the hydraulic and electrical circuits with a tamper proof intelligent valve. The valve is specifically designed to immobilise diesel vehicles, which cannot be electrically bypassed. The machine is activated by a numerical keypad and FOB, which, operate simultaneously. Disarming the system can be by touching in your chosen code on the key pad or by a single touch of the FOB against the reader.

The E-lock 3 Immobiliser from Enigma Vehicle System is a keypad immobiliser designed specifically for Construction Plant. It isolates up to 3 circuits and has a pin code function allowing different levels of user. The pin codes can be changed “over the air” to provide complete control to a hire company for example or used as a way of ensuring that only authorized operators can use the equipment. It also has a remote immobilisation function. This product is approved to Thatcham category P2.

Location & Tracking Systems

Location and tracking systems operate on Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to provide accurate location via satellite and cellular technologies. Information is direct to your Internet connected PC, laptop or mobile phone. The system can monitor the location, movement, engine hours and battery condition etc of your plant.

The Skyline range of products from Enigma Vehicle Systems, approved to TQA, provides a range of tracking products ranging from security only recovery systems, Skyline 999, to combined security and fleet management systems. The latest offering is the Skyline Cat 5 Plus which offers security approved by Thatcham to Cat P2/P5, alongside advanced fleet management functionality. The Skyline Cat 5 Dallas and the Skyline Cat 5 RFID are both approved to Cat P5.

Site Security Systems

A wire-free portable alarm or CCTV system designed for internal and external use on site or in a depot. These systems are less expensive and more effective than static guards. They can deliver live or recorded video pictures direct to a PC, laptop, mobile phone or monitoring station.

CESAR - Construction Equipment Security and Registration
CESAR maintains a database of owned equipment, each item having a unique registration number fitted by approved installers either at the point of manufacture or by the user and parallel registration with the DVLA. CESAR identifies and recovers stolen plant and equipment free of any charges and offers 24/7 support to the police.

The National Plant & Equipment Register (TER)
TER maintains an international database of owned and stolen equipment and provide a 24/7 support to the police and other law enforcement agencies. TER identifies and recovers stolen equipment on behalf of owners and insurers.
